Salam Takziah kepada mangsa2 ombak tsunami yg melanda beberapa buah negara di sekitar Asia pada hari semalam. Kawasan umah sherrina tak terasa pulak gegaran, maybe sebab disini kawasan tanah rendah. Kalau bergegar, sure dah terjaga dari tido. Nie sedap aje ngorok pagi semalam. hehehe...

Tadi lepas lunch sambil dok cuci pinggan, intai2 kat backyard kut2 ada kucing. Ternampak le satu kejadian yg terasa rugi le amat tak dapat di capture dgn digicam. Kalau dapat video, lagi bagus. bleh anto ke American Funniest Animal. Kucing oren yg tido dalam pasu ayah sherrina yg baru aje digempur tanahnya punye le tido lena, sampai terlentok2 kepalanya keluar dari bucu tempat kucing tu sandarkan kepala. Kelako..cepat2 amik digicam dan rakam saki baki aksi yg ada....


Mula-mula, tido cam biasa. Nyenyak mcm baby

The Phantom of The Opera (POTO)

One of the thing that keep popping in my mind right after the exam is to watch The Phantom of The Opera movie at TGV. Ever since I read the literature book when I was 14 years old, I always find the story is a very fascinating piece of literature. Somewhat between love, hate, anger and mystery. So, I booked two tickets through the TGV phone ticketing reservation this morning and managed to get the seats at 5.30pm. Right after office hour, my friend and I dashed to KLCC. Even though my car created some problem when we reached the parking lot, but it did not killed my mood and eager to watch the show. I expected a long queue at the counters coz it's Wednesday at the ticket price is cheaper compared to other days but not many people were there.

Anyway, after purchasing the ticket and bought popcorns and coke, we watched some trailers which were shown at the screen nearby. At 5.20pm, we were allowed to enter and how am I very glad to find that our seats are right in the middle, almost perfect. At 5.30pm, the movie appeared after a few minutes of Nokia messages ads shown to remind people the etiquette of watching movie in a cinema. The opening was grand. It started with a flashback and fast pace into the real time. The casts are new to me as I don't recall knowing any of them. The classical music soars throughout the 2 hours and most of the time we will be only listening to the actor and actress singing because the originality of POTO from stage musical to movie makes it diffcult to tell the story in ordinary way. About 70% of the stories were told in songs. The main song of the movie was really good, so does the others songs. If you like classical music, you will definitely like the songs in this movie.

Basically the story is about the Phantom who lives under the Paris Opera house which claimed to be haunted after a great accident happened in it. It was reopen again and it attracted great crowd. It stages several stage shows throughout the movie. A new comer, Christine who is the lead vocal of the show is being admired by the Phantom who at the same time is the person who taught her how to sing wonderfully. It's more like a triangle kind of love affair between Christine, the Phantom and Christine's childhood sweetheart, Viscount Raoul. If you think the Phantom (Erik) is a ghost, you are wrong. He's actually a guy with half of his face badly burned which makes he feel humiliated and lower self-esteem. When he was a kid, he used to be kept in a cage and shown to people who came to a Gypsi circus and claimed to be the child of ghost due to his bad looking face. He was kept and tied in the cage until one day he killed his master and ran away with a girl who watched the show and kept him in a safe place. A very special musical movie. It's better to watch it yourself to understand the whole story.

As I was enjoying and deeply concentrating with the storyline while inspire with the design of the casting set, I felt annoyed with some of the people who either doesn't understand the message/reminder that the Nokia ads had given earlier or simply arrogant and foolish. A loud well-known ringtones rouse in the middle of the movie and a girl answered it loudly till everyone in the room able to hear every bit of her conversation. She was shouting to the caller saying she can't hear him/her. Grrr...several people started to hush and make complaints directly to her but she just pretend not to hear and continue talking with the caller. Then, not long after that a group of girls can be heard giggling at the back. I was quite amazed on the way they able to extract the message of the movie as I was unable to find any amuse act during that scene. It was quite a serious and suspense scene, actually. A few more ringing can be heard throughout the movie. At the end of the movie, I assumed that some of the audience don't have any idea what is POTO all about. Maybe they expected a horror movie and when they found that it was a musical movie (mind you, it's classical and not rock or hip hop), it tends to make them bored and they started to chat among themselves. At least, they should respect other audience if they don't want to leave the place. Urrghh..talking bout Malaysian bad etiquette. Please, can some one tell me if there is still cellphones selling in the market that is not equipped with silent mode. Even though our folks are not widely exposed to musical stage especially classical, but it's not an excuse for behaving badly in the cinema. I was satisfied with the movie but pissed off with the surrounding mood. I should have try the Gold class offered in GSC.

For those who have not watch this movie yet, do not waste your money and time if you think Sound of Music and Marry Poppins are very boring (no offence,eh). Almost end of the year

Final exam dah abis, keje2 yg penting kat pejabat dah abis. Bleh lepak dan relaks sampai new year. Yearghhh...mana nak gi ek kalau nak tenangkan fikiran? Cameron Highland ke Fraser Hill? Aritu dalam The Star ada publish article mengenai perpustakaan MAB (Malaysian Associations for the Blind) yang memerlukan sukarelawan utk taipkan buku2 menarik utk dialih ke tulisan Braille. Best gak projek nie, aku pon tak penah tau camne buku tulisan braille dihasilkan. Ingat nak gi sana le lepas cuti new year.

Anyway, cuti krismas dah dekat tak lama plak new year.....apa perancangan korang? walau apa pun, pastikan ianya bermanafaat dan tidak sia-sia...

oklah, nak chow....tido la. baru lepas format laptop...ngantuk bangat. nanti aku sambung lagi....

maaf sebab dah lama tak update. takpe, lepas 19/12 nie, sherrina akan update dan sesi ubahsuai design dan layout pun akan dijalankan sempena kedatangan tahun baru 2005 tak lama lagi.....sedangkan hari raya pon org tukar langsir baru, ini kan pula blog....musti mau tukar punyaaa....

5 hari sahaja lagi sebelum Ramadhan melabuhkan tirainya. Terasa begitu cepat masa berlalu. Bagaikan tidak terasa peritnya puasa di ramadhan kali ini. Alhamdulillah. Mungkin kerana faktor cuaca yang kerap hujan, tidak seperti sebelum2 ini yang kebiasaannya bulan puasa bermakna cuaca panas dan terik. Sebetulnya sherrina tidak membuat sebarang persiapan bagi Syawal kali ini. Selain terikat dengan kesibukkan di universiti dan tempat kerja, budget juga merupakan salah satu faktornya. Tetapi semalam dapat pula peluang untuk membeli sedikit sebanyak keperluan, digunakan dengan sebaiknya. Biasanya sherrina ngan member baik, zura akan memilih satu hari untuk kami menghabiskan masa berjalan disekitar Kuala Lumpur membeli barang2 persiapan raya tapi tahun nie member sherrina sibuk dengan urusan dipejabat dan persiapan perkahwinannya selepas raya nanti, maka sherrina gi ngan member opis. Dah lama juga tak turun ke kawasan Jalan TAR. Tampak banyak perubahan terkini. Selain daripada mencari perkara2 yang perlu seperti baju raya, tudung dan kasut, sherrina mengambil kesempatan mencari buku karya Faisal Tehrani yang tidak dijual di kedai2 buku popular di KLCC dan Mid Valley. Seronok tak terkira bila dapat membeli buku penulis terkenal ini. Bukunya bertajuk 1511(Kombat) dan 1515. Bagi yang mengemari novel2 melayu yang biasa diterbitkan oleh Alaf21, Creative Enterprise dll lagi, jangan terkejut jika mendapati jalan cerita karya Faisal Tehrani sangat berbeza. 1511 (Kombat) berkisar peperangan di zaman akan datang diantara Islam dan orang kafir. sherrina mengambil masa satu malam untuk menghabiskannya. Tak pernah berjumpa karya seperti ini sebelum ini. Cuti raya nie boleh le ambil masa membaca 1515 pula memandangkan sherrina hanya beraya di KL sahaja. Bagi yang ingin mencari buku beliau, boleh le menjenguk ke Pustaka Mukmin di Jalan Tunku Abdul Rahman. Dapat diskaun 10 peratus lagi. Untuk mengetahui lebih lanjut mengenai karya2 Faisal Tehrani, boleh lawati laman web Faisal Tehrani Online Di kesempatan ini juga sherrina ingin mengucapkan Selamat Hari Raya Aidilfitrri, Maaf Zahir dan Batin kepada semua sahabat-sahabat dimana jua anda berada khususnya kepada pengunjung-pengunjung blog ini. Insya' Allah sherrina akan kembali aktif sepenuhnya sebelum tahun 2004 melabuhkan tirainya.

Hari nie adalah hari terakhir computer fair kat PWTC. Computer Fair nie cam adik beradik ngan PC Fair le. sherrina pon tak pasti apa bezanya tapi rasanya dua2 event dikendalikan oleh organisasi yg berbeza. Semalam sherrina amik kesempatan melawat PWTC untuk menjenguk2 pasaran laptop sekaran ini. Sherrina jangkakan memandangkan raya akan menjelang tidak lama lagi, tak ramai le orang melayu yang akan kesana. Rupanya tidak juga. ramai orang melayu yang mengambil kesempatan membeli peralatan komputer pada harga yang berpatutan disamping ramai juga yang sekadar survey2 sementara menunggu PC Fair awal Disember ini.

Kalau pada tahun 2002 masa sherrina beli laptop Compaq yg dah dicuri tu, pada ketika itu pilihan laptop tidak begitu meluas. selain terikat dengan jenama2 yg telah establish didalam market seperti Acer, IBM dll....harganya juga agak mahal. masa sherrina beli dulu, RM 3999 hanya mampu memiliki laptop yg menggunakan processor AMD Mobile XP 1.3GHz disamping 128MB ram(tu pun jek2 dorang mintak free 128 lagi), 20GB hd dan DVD Rom. Pada ketika itu, Centrino baru sahaja dilancarkan dan harganya memang mahal. Apatah lagi Intel Pentium Mobile ditambah pula DVD+CDRW combo....kalau takde 5 ribu dalam tangan, jangan nak berangan.

Tapi hari ini, Centrino menjadi inti didalam kebanyakkan laptop yang boleh didapati di kedai2 mahupun semasa pesta komputer. Cuma pada kali ini dilihat trend penggunaan LCD monitor bersaiz 12 inci, berat laptop kurang dari 2 kilogram, wide screen monitor dan build in wi-fi boleh didapati di hampir kesemua booth jenama laptop yang ada. bab penggunaan skrin kecil nie yg sherrina lemah sket. dah le banyak masa dihabiskan membuat kerja2 dokumen dan designing, ditambah pula dengan main games, internet surfing dan tahun depan dah start nak buat project paper yg melibatkan system development, 12 inci nie macam menyakitkan mata aje. Ada pula sekarang ini laptop yg begitu kecil sehingga boleh diisi didalam beg bersaiz A4 yang boleh dikepit dibawah lengan!

Seperti masa2 yang lalu, laptop menggunakan desktop processor masih wujud didalam pasaran bagi mereka2 yang mempunyai budget yang rendah (harganya kurang dr 3 ribu ringgit!) tetapi terpaksa menampung saiz dan berat laptop yg lebih dr yang menggunakan mobile processor disamping penghasilan haba yang lebih tinggi. Kali ini desknote tak nampak pula dimana2. Tak pasti pula samada PC Suria ada buka booth di PWTC atau tidak (adakah mereka masih wujud dlm pasaran komputer di Malaysia?). Rasanya desknote nie masih belum menawan hati para pengguna komputer bergerak.

Selain itu, pada pesta komputer kali ini melihatkan tumbuhnya pelbagai jenama laptop yang cuba bersaing dengan jenama2 antarabangsa yang sudah gah dalam pasaran. Antaranya seperti Bluedot, Atec dll lagi. Kebanyakkannya dipasang di Taiwan (kecuali Atec yang dipasang di Thailand dan dilaporkan menjadi pilihan No 1 disana)dan menawarkan spec yang sangat bagus pada harga yang sangat competitive. Ternyata kali ini membuat pilihan menjadi semakin sukar kerana terpaksa study setiap satu jenama yg ada. Tetapi, dengan budget kurang dr RM 4000, pengguna boleh memiliki laptop yang bercirikan spec yang cukup bagus. Dengan kehadiran jenama2 yg sedang merangkak menembusi pasaran, syarikat2 gergasi tentu mula berasa cuak dan mula membaling (throw in) pelbagai hadiah percuma, diskaun dan sebagainya untuk menarik perhatian pelanggan.

Kita tunggu sahaja Pikom PC Fair yang akan datang pada minggu pertama bulan Disember ini. Adakah ianya lebih hebat berbanding yang sedang berlangsung di PWTC sekarang atau sebaliknya. Yang nyata, kedua2 program memberi keuntungan kepada pengguna dalam mencari dan membeli perkakasan komputer yang diperlukan pada harga yang berpatutan.

Fuji Finepix S5000 aku kene curik skali ngan laptop Compaq and iPAQ pda. Kalau korang nampak iklan2 jualan yg murah semacam dimana2, please let me know. Anyway, sedih memang sedih tapi life must go on. Hari raya takde laptop and ipaq takpe,takde kasut baru pon takpe tapi kalau takde camera...huwaa...nangis woo. So aku dah pi survey kat kedai. Nak cari model yg lama memang dah takde. Mungkin ada hikmahnya, aku dapat beli kamera baru yang lain dr yg lama.

So far lepas survey2, aku nampak Panasonic Lumix FZ3 sesuai ngan budget aku. Lagipon model nie in fact cam better dr aku nye yg lama sebab ada image stabilizer, 12x optical zoom dan guna Leica lens. Cuma yg tak best warna dia silver dan body dia plastik. Nak sambar FZ20 mahal bebeno plak. Aku suka finepix lama aku sebab body dia warna hitam and body buat dr getah. So bila pegang rasa kemas dan nampak cam pakai dSLR le sebab warna hitam

So, buat masa nie takde update lah ye.....tunggu le bila aku dah berjaya sambar kamera nie. harga pon a bit cheaper drpd aku nye dulu tapi aku masih windu kat kamera lama..huwaaaaa......

Best vs Hampeh

Best:

1. First time seumur hidup aku blajo subjek akaun aku berjaya siapkan akaun tu terus imbang (balance debit and credit). Sebetulnya aku tak suka subjek akaun. Dulu sanggup tadah kepala menampung fakta biologi semata2 nak elak akaun. Tapi kat unitar nie kene amik gak. Mujur lecturer akaun kat sini best sampai aku yg tak suka akaun pon dah jatuh cintan. Huhu...selama nie blajo akaun tak penah2 balance, masa exam terus balance....harap2 betul le jawapan tu.

2. Subjek yg aku study ciput2 iaitu Accounting and Transaction Processing System. Subjek nie aku dah amik semester Januari aritu tapi lepas aje mid term exam terus aku berkawad ke academic office utk drop subjek tu. Mujur exam paper tu aku masih simpan dalam fail. Tuhan nak tolong, tergerak hati nak study soalan tu and buat skema jawapan. Harap hafal aje le. Sekali masa exam smalam, rasa tatau nak jawab mana satu. Kluar balik sejibik-sebijik...Alhamdulillah, kali nie le nampak aku tak sempat nak termenung masa exam.

3. Aku dah start membuat lawatan ke kedai2 second hand car and kedai Proton. Ada beberapa yang menawan kalbu (menjerut poket lagi banyak). Nak amik kete seken (second), risiko keadaan kete le plak. Bayar bulan2 boleh tahan, sket lagi nak cecah kete baru. Smalam ada satu kedai tu tunjuk kat aku Wira 1.3 baru pakai setahun (mileage pon 17000 je) tapi ntah, cam tak confident le plak. Entah2 penah eksiden, entah2 dah ada org mati dlm kete tu (hampeh, idea member aku) takpon silap2 dah dicemari oleh org bikin projek dlm kete. Cehhh.......nampak gaya amik kete baru le kot. Omakkk....sapo nak tolong den bayo duit muko keto ni????

4. Semalam berbuka posa kat Great Eastern Mall. Wow..siap pasang azan kat speaker lagi. Bergema satu bangunan. Makan kat Chicken Rice Shop....sodapp....

5. Aku dah jumpa charger GP 2300 yg aku dok melilau cari satu KL selama nie. Rupa2 nya ada dijual kat Carrefour Wangsa Maju..cis...ciss dan ciss...



Hampeh:

1. Credit card direct access tak lulus lagi. bukan tak diluluskan, dorang belum proses borang. lambatnya......

2. Aku punye le sedih sebab laptop aku buat hal. Ingat nak anto kedai, tapi teringat plak kompeni yg nak anto pc baru kat opis nie. tanye dorang, dorang bleh repair laptop. minta tempoh 1 minggu. smalam aku tepon, depa kata tak sempat buat lagi. Arghhhh.......jangan kata aku taknak nolong orang Melayu meniaga. Orang Melayu yg taknak tolong diri sendiri. Terpaksa aku nganto ke kedai bangsa lain. cis..cis...dan ciss......bukan aku taknak bayo. nak bayo pon dorang taknok repair. respek aku kat kedai second hand cino tak jauh dr umah aku (laa..cian kedai depa. aku gi nengok kete 2 hari lepas. dah sangkut sama 1 atos hitam. smalam aku dengo radio RMKL, kedai tu kene rompak dek 7 orang India bersenjatakan parang. Ngan 3 biji kete kene angkut termasuk atos...huwaaa...), depa offer wira 1.3 tapi kalau bleh aku nak carik 1.5. dorang janji akan tolong carikkan. baru 20 minit aku sampai umah, budak tu dak tepon offer aku wira 1.6. alahai...copek bonar ekau buek kojo. aku tolak elok2 sebab tak minat.

3. aku teringin nak berbuka posa kat Menara KL tapi dorang kata ia hanya dibuka untuk tempahan saja. Tunggu aku jadi jutawang le kalau nak suh aku open table ramai2 kat Menara KL nun....

4. Kete yang aku minat tu dalam stok cuma ada kaler hitam aje...pulak. Jenuh aaa kalau kene taik burung, nampak dari sebatu!!

Pemberitahuan! Blog ini tidak akan dikemaskini sehingga minggu depan kerana laptop sherrina masuk hospital (huwaa!!!)....till then, slamat berpuasa.

Salam Ramadhan Al-Mubarak

Amacam puasa? Hari pertama tu maybe perit sket kot sebab perut terkejut. Lama2 okaylah. Cuma satu je, godaan tidur di bulan puasa nie hebat sungguh. Nikmatnya berbeza berbanding tido di bulan biasa. Nyenyak semacam aje. apa2 pun takleh dilayan sangat tidur nie, tak silap sherrina tidur terlampau banyak semasa puasa hukumnya makhruh (betulkan jika silap). Buka posa kali nie sempoi cam tahun lepas. Ayah sherrina kata dah taknak perabis duit banyak2 utk berbuka. Cukup dengan lauk yg ada. So far kitorang tak berkesempatan lagi membeli juadah di Pasar Ramadhan. Tapi sesekali lalu dikawasan pasar yg slalu sherrina pegi (di AU5), dah tak riuh macam tahun2 yg lalu. Mungkin tak ramai peniaga menyertai pesta kali ini dan juga dijangka pembeli pun akan berbelanja seadanya setelah pengumuman kenaikan harga minyak baru2 ini disambung pula dengan pesta kenaikan harga barang-barang harian. Cuma yang tak kurang ialah mercun. Belum apa-apa lagi, tiap2 hari ada aje bunyi mercun berkumandang. Stok tahun lepas agaknya. Kalau disimpan dgn baik, tak masuk angin. Masih boleh guna.

Sinonim dengan kehadiran bukan Ramadhan, antara pihak yang berlumba-lumba cuba memancing orang ramai untuk menghadirinya ialah buffet berbuka puasa (selain drpd solat terawih yg ditunggu2). Hampir kesemua hotel tampil dengan menu dan harga masing2 yg berbagai-bagai citarasa. Sherrina terjumpa list ini di Forum Cari.com.my dan mungkin ada antara anda yang hendak berbuka puasa secara buffet, boleh le pilih mana yang berkenan di hati, di perut dan di poket. Klik Berbuka di Hotel. Bagi sherrina, kalau ada peluang dan duit, teringin nak berbuka puasa di Menara KL. Boleh tenguk pemandangan matahari terbenam.

Macromedia Flash MX training & Mini Mentos story

Sorry for the late update. I had just finished attending the 2 days Macromedia Flash MX training organized by training.org.my. It was fun, I learn a lot especially the basic of Flash. This will helps me a lot to explore the program in details. I never knew that all those fantastic flash tricks needs only a few clicks to be developed. But I'm still far away from mastering the software. Still need to do more practice and exploring. Anyway, it was really great. The training place is superb. It was held in BATC in UTM Jalan Semarak. Man, I missed these place. 3 years of sweet and bitter memories and I am back to attend the training. The trainer is a professional trainer from Sifoo.com (for those who familiar with graphics stuff surely knows this website). Thanks to the trainer and Nazha from training.org.my for conducting such excellent event. For those who are interested to know more about the trainings, visit Training.org.my. I will bet you will be surprise with the cost of each course. Way cheap compared to other places. Very affordable.

My Flash MX certificate


Last Sunday I was having lunch in a restaurant in Kelana Jaya when I found this mini Mentos. I don't remember seeing such size at any stores and then I realize that the product is suppose to be only for Indonesia market. Now, how did it ended up in Kelana Jaya?


There are 3 types of flavour: Strawbery, orange and lemon


Whooaa....illegally smuggled eh?


I still prefer the original, Malaysian Mentos taste. They taste better compared to these 'dwarfs'

Cat Rescue-Day 3: The End

Nasib baik comel, baka bagus gak. bulu ekor kembang tapi garang seh...kat setengah jam memujuk baru dapat cekup badan dia pastu tarik keluar. Apalagi, sherrina ngan adik berlari satu rumah mengejar kucing tu. Ingat nak bela tapi liar sangat. Cayalah lid, hero of the day!

CAT RESCUE - DAY 2

We are stucked. We tried our best to persuate the cat but still failed. We are about to give up when my dad came out with one of his 'MacGyver' solution. He took a thick of a flat wood which he kept for his gardening activity and arrange it on the ladder so that the end of it reached the window where the cat is trapped. He put a bait to attract the cat, which is a plate of rice and fish. We thought of putting a nice and hot fried fish as a bait but mom refused to donate any. So, we sticked with the rice and fish.

After several hours, the cat was still there looking at us with its pity face but didn't dare to walked down the wooden path. Now, we are not only ended up trying to rescue a hungry cat but also a coward one. This is getting difficult.

Later, my dad brought up another piece of wood and designed another way for the cat to walk down. Heh, while typing this I can hear the cat meow loudly. Anyway, we'll stick with the latest plan at least until tomorrow morning before thinking of other way. Any idea on how to solve this problem?

Cat Rescue - Day 1

Between my house and my neighbour, there's a space at the roof top which always been a death trap to animals especially cats. Last saturday we heard meowing sound from the toilet which has a small window to the place. That was the second incident. The first one happened few years ago. I have no idea how did these cats ended up there. Bet they climbed up too high and fall into the space through a hole.

So, as usual my dad, me and my sister made up a plan on how to rescue the cat. It will be a lot easier if the cat is familiar with us but we found out that it's a stranger. Duhh..it's hard to make the cat trust us and let us hold it to take it down. So, here's some photos on the rescue activity on day 1.

The rescue unit had to postponed its activity because mom been yelling at us asking us to come down and finished up our dinner. So, the rescue activity will be continue again tomorrow. Stay tune for the latest updates on the Cat Rescue!

KLCC @ NIGHT

Sejak akhir-akhir nie asik hujan di petang hari. Semalam pon gitu jugak. punye le lebat. mujur takde pokok yg tumbang di wangsa maju. aritu dah banyak yg tumbang. anyway, lepas keje tatau nak gi mana gi le KLCC. tu je yg dekat dan mudah. agaknya org pon dah jemu gi KLCC, tak crowded pon. Lepas makan spaghetti bolognaise kat food court yg sedap tu, gi lepak Kinokuniya. memandangkan budget buku dah kering, tengok aje lah sambil usha2 buku yg bakal dibeli nanti bila dah ada duit. Lepas tu, lepak di taman klcc sambil sembang ngan member. sambil tu amik gambo klcc dan air pancut. oh ye, huruf I pada signboard Isetan sudah diganti.
