Final exam....again!!

Again, the usual end of semester stuff arrive with big smile. Here I am, stuck in the room in front of the laptop trying very hard to study even though I spend 2/3 of my precious one hour with clicking at websites or YM. Is there any university out there without an exam? I would prefer course work and projects rather than sitting in the silent-like-death exam room answering the questions. This semester is an enjoying semester. For the first time, I managed to complete a website all by myself with the form, javascripts and upload it to Geocities (check out www.geocities.com/sherrina_kl).

Ohh..can't wait too look forward for the end of week long holiday. I'll be off from Saturday til Wednesday (extra one day given by our boss). All of us will be heading toward PD to celebrate boss jr (boss's son). It will be BBQ, swimming and sleeping. Ahh.what a good activity after the first half of final exam (the second half comes after the long holiday, only one subject..no big deal!) Hmm....I plan to do kayaking. It's been years since the last time I did kayak.

okay, this blog will be freeze for a week till after the holiday (unless I have time to write anything here). Till then....adios.

Power Rangers Movie!

What movie Do you Belong in?(many different outcomes!)
brought to you by Quizilla
<h2>Safety Tips : Be safe than sorry</h2>I've got this forwarded to me by a friend. It could help you when you need it....

1. Tip from Tae Kwon Do: The elbow is the strongest point on your body.
If you are close enough to use it, do!

2. If a robber asks for your wallet and/or purse, DO NOT HAND IT TO HIM.
BUT TOSS IT AWAY FROM YOU (good tips, I've never thought about this before).. Chances are that he is more interested in your
wallet and/or purse than you and he will go for the wallet/purse. RUN LIKE MAD IN THE OTHER DIRECTION!

3. If you are ever thrown into the trunk of a car: Kick out the back tail lights and stick your arm out the hole and start waving like crazy. The
driver wont see you but everybody else will. This has saved lives.

4. Women have a tendency to get into their cars after shopping, eating, working, etc., and just sit (doing their checkbook, or making a list,
etc. DON'T DO THIS! The predator will be watching you, and this is the perfect opportunity for him to get in on the passenger side, put a gun to your
head, and tell you where to go. AS SOON AS YOU GET INTO YOUR CAR, LOCK THE DOORS AND LEAVE. (been practising this since the first day I've got my license)

5. A few notes about getting into your car in a parking lot, or parking garage:

   a. Be aware: look around you, look into your car, at the passenger side floor, and in the back seat. (good habit)

    b. If you are parked next to a big van, enter your car from the passenger door. Most serial killers attack their victims by pulling them into
their vans while the women are attempting to get into their cars. (ok owww...never thought about this)

   c. Look at the car parked on the driver's side of your vehicle, and the passenger side. If a male is sitting alone in the seat nearest your car,
you may want to walk back into the mall, or work, and get a guard/policeman to walk you back out. IT IS ALWAYS BETTER TO BE SAFE THAN SORRY. (And
better paranoid than dead.)

6. ALWAYS take the elevator instead of the stairs.(Stairwells are horrible places to be alone and the perfect crime spot).

7. If the predator has a gun and you are not under his control, ALWAYS RUN! The predator will only hit you (a running target) 4 in 100 times; And
even then, it most likely WILL NOT be a vital organ. RUN! (errr....this is tough. Dunno if I still have the guts to do so if it does happen)

8. As women, we are always trying to be sympathetic: STOP IT! It may get you raped, or killed. Ted Bundy, the serial killer, was a good-looking,
well-educated man, who ALWAYS played on the sympathies of unsuspecting women. He walked with a cane, or a limp, and often asked "for help" into
his vehicle or with his vehicle, which is when he abducted his next victim. (Oitt..still can afford to drive with limp leg?)

Spread the word, people......Make our world a safer place.

The meaning of The Truman Show

Last night TV3 aired one of Jim Carrey's film which hitted the cinemas around the world in 1998. Last night was not the first time I watched The Truman Show but I was still eager to watch it again. At 10pm, I stook still in front of the television until midnight.

It does look cruel with what had happened to Truman since he was born. Being watched every single move by audiences around the world 24/7 non-stop for 30 years from his first word, to his first step, first day at school until first kiss.....all are viewed by billions of people across the world. It sure is sick. But to watch Truman's face when he knew that his world is a fake world is really touchy. How do u feel if you are in his shoe? Of course it sounds absurd and impossible but somehow, there's a message in the whole 2 hours movie. Somebody is watching us. Number one, definitely God has been watching us since we were created and we will be watched until we leave this world and transported to the other world. But somehow, the movie is trying to reveal more than that to audience.

So, I tried to search the internet and found this fantastic article. The Meaning of The Truman Show

Puisi yang ditemui di Pameran Lukisan Lat, Balai Senilukis Negara baru-baru ini

kebebasan kepadaku hanya satu beban
apa pemimpin kata aku ikut saja
akal yang diberi Tuhan
tak payah digunakan
kecuali untuk mencari makan

keraguan dan kerinduan jiwa (jika ada)
kubawa berlari
berlari dari rumah ke pejabat
dari pejabat ke rumah
hingga hilang segala sangsi

dalam bunyi lantang peti tv
tiap tiap malam hari
sambil ternganga tengok tv
aku menjilat jari
begitu sedapnya kentucky
dan aku akan
lebih tidak peduli
aku mahu hidup begini
seribu tahun lagi

<font color="#FFFF00"><h3>Bird Park, Kuala Lumpur</h3></font>Last Sunday, I went to KL Bird Park with my friend. The last time I visited the park it was several years ago and I was surprised that the entrance fee is quite expensive, RM 12 for each adult (Cuti-Cuti Malaysia promotion price) and the actual price is RM25. Maybe the fee to maintain is too high that force the management to charge such price. But, if you haven't seen the place I would say RM 12 is really worth. It's a huge park with lots of birds to see. Most of it are allowed to wonder freely in the park and some are quite tame.

At the park entrance, the tiung bird will greet you with a 'hello' and 'hi' wishes. I jokingly tried to teach them to say 'Yo, wassup' and forced them to read Sifir 4!! Muahahaha....We started our journey at about 2pm and completed the whole park 2 hours later with an exciting bird entertainment. Warning: Bring plenty of mineral and isotonic drinks. Drinks and foods that are sold in the park are very expensive. A can of 100 Plus and one mineral bottle water cost me RM 5!

During the bird show, several parrots showed their expertise in mathematic skills where the instructor will showed the bird numbers using his fingers and the bird will knock the bell according to the sum of the numbers given. But the bird can't calculate more than 10. Then two orang utans performed after the bird show. Right after the show, heavy rains poured and we have to sheltered in a cave nearby. At 5pm, we left the place. One nice place and I took about 200 photos of birds and animals during the tour. Check out my Fotopages.

One afro bird....very brave dude.

Nice, golden hair. I bet he use rebonding technique.

This bird can be hired to give you a wake-up call

The guy will hide a dice under one of that silver cup and moves it around and see whether the bird can identify the correct cup that hides the dice

Are you sure? Nak guna talian hayat?

What the heck. I've been doing this every week. Lame trick...duh

Oii...oii..what are you looking at? Ada hutang ka???

I hate manual car.

Sapa yang cabut bateri kete nie hah? Dengki lah tuuu....jaki tengok orang nak gi dating.

Handphone in the nest? Burung spesis baru ke nih???

Bird Park, Kuala Lumpur.

What's your favourite game?Do you play video games or computer games? If you do, I'm sure you have a selection of your favourite ones. I once addicted with the old video game, Contra which took away most of my free time. My parent was really strict about video games and we do not have any game machine in our house until now except computer. I remember I bought my first tetris handheld through a friend who got it at 'pasar malam' when I was in first year at UTM and man, I was so excited coz at last I have my own handheld game!!
Here's the pic of my favourite video game and I did completed to the final level few times. Heck, since I don't have a video game at home, I played at my neighbour's house.

Super Contra

Besides that, Super Mario was also my all-time favourite but since it took so long to complete the whole game, I remembered I only completed it once. The final victory is when we save the princess.

When I first started to work as computer tutor, I found an old game which attracts me. It is called Simtown. The kid version of Simcity. I played it almost everyday, monitoring the growth of my town and finally managed to get the award for The Best Town in The World. When I quit from the job and joined Futurekids, I couldn't found the game anywhere and almost forgot about it until recently I accidentlly saw it in a website and downloaded it. Now, I'm in the midst of building my own town and just grab the award for The Best Town of Year. I still have 24 months more to go before getting rewarded for The Best Town in the world.

If you like this kind of game where you have to plan your own town or city, try Beach Life. It's fun and err...addicting. Don't blame me if you get hooked with it and it's more suitable for 18 years and above due to certain uncensored scene throughout the game :)

when you are tired with managing the island and ran out of money, cheat code does come in handy....click here to find the cheat code.

Okay dude, i'm off to my Simtown. Adios.....

wassupp!! Weekend appear and go. I wish it will stay forever..tee..hee..hee..so, any good activity? Me as usual spent my weekend at the campus. Class loh, what else? Final exam will be here really soon. After class,I dropped by at the Smart Kids Fair in PWTC. It was crowded with kids. I stopped by at the Lego booth which display the new Lego Mindstorm: Robotics Invention Systems 2.0 which enable user to build robots that can be controlled using computer command. The previous version, the robot can only moves at limited distance but now, it can move further because it has infrra-red sensor. Cool, as cool as its price. The price tag showed nearly RM 1K! Pheww..that's a lot for a toy. I wish to get one for our Futurekids center for computer camp programs.

okay..okay...I know I'm too old to play around with Lego but I just love this toy since I was small. There were also several sets of Harry Potter's Lego set available...:p

Yesterday was a play-all-day. My friend and I had 4 rounds of bowling at Ampang Point. Yahoo..for the first time I hitted above 100 points. I should play more often to obtain better skills and techniques. Then we headed to Pizza Hut for a nice warm lunch during the heavy rain. After a quick shopping at Carrefour to get the good bargain of a set of Carlton badminton racquet with free bag for the price of RM 39.90, we headed straight to Titiwangsa Lake and had an hour of fun game and plenty of sweat. Really nice weather for a good game. We'll be there again this evening, I hope if the rain stops before 5pm....

oh, by the way....if you have the interest for arts, please drop by at the Galeri Petronas which is located in KLCC is having an exhibition on 'Wadah - A Solo Work Exhibition by Md Sani Md Dom. I'm not an art ethusiast but I find this exhibition is quite fascinating especially his oil painting collections. As a person who was born and raised in city centre, having this opportunity to view 'kampung' lifestyle and environment is something that shouldn't be missed out. Check it out at Galeri Petronas, KLCC. Here's one of his fine artwork:

From 9th of April - 11th of April, Istana Budaya will be showing The Death of A Scarecrow. For theater fans, this could be a good show judging by the review written by Istana Budaya:
The most travelled physical theatre production in the world, Death of a Scarecrow has been seen in over 70 countries. Consisting of eleven highly dramatic, poetic and comical episodes, this unforgettable presentation has as its principal theme the defencelessness of mankind in a world calculated cruelty. Death of a Scarecrow is accompanied by a stunning collage of music, from rock to classical, then augmented by fragmented voices and sound effects. It stars both the legendary mime artist Adam Darius, described by the BBC World Service in London as "one of the most exceptional talents of the 20th century," and the electrifying Kazimir Kolesnik, praised by the Jordan Times as "an international theatre giant."

I may not be going to Istana Budaya to watch this, but I plan to watch the coming show of Puteri Hang Li Po which will starts on 22nd of April. If you haven't check out Istana Budaya, you should try at least once. It's a spectacular place. I've seen Merdeka..Merdeka...Merdeka, Tengku Anum and Alang Rentak Seribu. Really great shows....

oppss..it's 8 am, I should sign out now.....have a great day!!
