It's been a while since the last time I posted in English. Anything new today that occured in your life? Share with me, I'd love to know...Oh ya, tomorrow is the 1st April which means the celebration (does it qualify to be categorized as a celebration?) and guess all of us have to be extra careful with our family and friends who might already plan some tricks on us. I think the day suit its name, the April Fool day..where people acting foolishly. I wonder who came up with the idea? Let me search the net using our favourite search engine, Google

Aha...according to this website called Wilstar, here's a description of what April Fool day is all about...

Unlike most of the other nonfoolish holidays, the history of April Fool's Day, sometimes called All Fool's Day, is not totally clear. There really wasn't a "first April Fool's Day" that can be pinpointed on the calendar. Some believe it sort of evolved simultaneously in several cultures at the same time, from celebrations involving the first day of spring.

The closest point in time that can be identified as the beginning of this tradition was in 1582, in France. Prior to that year, the new year was celebrated for eight days, beginning on March 25. The celebration culminated on April 1. With the reform of the calendar under Charles IX, the Gregorian Calendar was introduced, and New Year's Day was moved to January 1.

However, communications being what they were in the days when news traveled by foot, many people did not receive the news for several years. Others, the more obstinate crowd, refused to accept the new calendar and continued to celebrate the new year on April 1. These backward folk were labeled as "fools" by the general populace. They were subject to some ridicule, and were often sent on "fools errands" or were made the butt of other practical jokes.

This harassment evolved, over time, into a tradition of prank-playing on the first day of April. The tradition eventually spread to England and Scotland in the eighteenth century. It was later introduced to the American colonies of both the English and French. April Fool's Day thus developed into an international fun fest, so to speak, with different nationalities specializing in their own brand of humor at the expense of their friends and families.

In Scotland, for example, April Fool's Day is actually celebrated for two days. The second day is devoted to pranks involving the posterior region of the body. It is called Taily Day. The origin of the "kick me" sign can be traced to this observance.

Mexico's counterpart of April Fool's Day is actually observed on December 28. Originally, the day was a sad remembrance of the slaughter of the innocent children by King Herod. It eventually evolved into a lighter commemoration involving pranks and trickery.

Pranks performed on April Fool's Day range from the simple, (such as saying, "Your shoe's untied!), to the elaborate. Setting a roommate's alarm clock back an hour is a common gag. Whatever the prank, the trickster usually ends it by yelling to his victim, "April Fool!"

Practical jokes are a common practice on April Fool's Day. Sometimes, elaborate practical jokes are played on friends or relatives that last the entire day. The news media even gets involved. For instance, a British short film once shown on April Fool's Day was a fairly detailed documentary about "spaghetti farmers" and how they harvest their crop from the spaghetti trees.

April Fool's Day is a "for-fun-only" observance. Nobody is expected to buy gifts or to take their "significant other" out to eat in a fancy restaurant. Nobody gets off work or school. It's simply a fun little holiday, but a holiday on which one must remain forever vigilant, for he may be the next April Fool!

Please people, if you think you want to make prank jokes to your colleague, do consider the sensitiveness of other people. They might feel humiliated with the jokes.

check out your cyborg name at http://www.cyborgname.com/

here's mine...sounds evil eh? Did I scared you? muahahahaha....

Apa celita?
wassup my frendz? apa celita dihujung minggu? takkan takde apa2 yg menarik, kongsi2 le sama.

aku, as usual sabtu aku keje full day. Lepas keje aku ngan kawanku gi le jalan2 kat Sunway Pyramid. dah lama aku tak jenguk mall kepala singa nie. Disebabkan sampai lewat, kitorang just makan aje kat Fish Shop and balik. Ahad aku sibuk ngan kelas kat Unitar sepanjang hari. Kene plak subjek Internet programming my feveret, best blaja VB Script. Tapi bila petang, terkial2 aku dalam kelas Data Structute melukis sorting nombor yg berjela2....jenuh makcik. Dah le depan Unitar dah dibuka Giant Mall Kelana Jaya. As usual rakyat Malaysia memang suka mall yg baru buka, maka berduyun2 le rakyat Kelana Jaya dan sekitarnya ke sana. Sampai jem teruk jalan2 dibuatnya. Abis tempat parking kete student Unitar kene sapu....haru..haru....

Semalam plak disebabkan aku off day, gi le ikut my parent ke Uda Holdings ada mesyuarat luar biasa saham UDA. memang luar biasa. lagi2 isu MRCB suh UDA amik sekeping tanah kat area KL Sentral pastu nak pinjam beberapa belas ke ratus juta. Hangat2 sampai kene mengundi le smalam tapi sapa majority shareholder? depa le. so, sekali lagi keputusan undian ala2 'landslide' gitu....janji aku dapat kupon sarapan kat Starbucks.....percuma. Pastu pi angkut member dua orang berehat2 lagi di Sunway Pyramid. Best sungguh pi jalan2 hari isnin. orang tak ramai, tak penin kepala. Lepas pulun 3 round kat bowling (cisss..kalah 2-1), aku try indoor archery. Huhu...dah lama tak pikul recurve bow, lintang pukang arrow melayang. dah 2 tahun pencen main archery. Abis semua skill terbang. Tapi environment indoor archery nie lain le ngan outdoor. Lagik best outdoor, kene challenge ngan angin plak ngan terik mentari...masakk...abis seround archery, pekena game kat arcade seround dua. Arrgh..my feveret game kayuh beskal takde plak. Cisss...terpaksa main game Jurassic Park ngan Water ski....buhsan. Pi lepak MacD sambil sembang2 sampai malam. Pastu tengok orang main ice skating. teringin nak main tapi gayat le. Buatnya aku terjatuh, mau retak ais2 kat situ...muahahahaha......pastu, Agak2 jalanraya dah clear, baru kitorang blah balik umah.

Hari nie aku MC, suara hilang sebab sore throat.

Eh, korang sure dah tengok senarai kabinet yg terbaru kan? amacam, suka? aku kelako le tgk Hishamuddin diletakkan di Kementerian Pendidikan. Alahaii...orang sukan lompat masuk skolah. Zaharah pula adakah kerana isu kereta lari cukai? macam2 spekulasi tapi Pak Lah dah kata sebab dia nak kasik muka2 baru. Alahai, muka2 lama tu pun kasik pencen la...itu Samy Vellu kasik can la orang lain kutip tol pulak.

Eh, sapa gantikan tempat Datuk Seri Abdul Hamid Zainal Abidin? Dr Mashitah ka?

Jokes yg aku kutip dari Forum Cari:

Demam pilihanraya masih belum kebah. Ia masih diperkatakan disana disini.

Selepas pilihanraya, kehidupan kembali seperti biasa.

Last year aku gi gak and it was so much fun, lagi2 kalau ada bawak budak2 sama. Last year aku gi ngan bos aku, ngan anak dia sekali. Disitulah aku mula kenal roti yang cukup popular di few shopping mall, iaitu Roti Boy. Antara kedai roti yang mampu menarik ramai orang hingga sanggup beratur panjang semata-mata nak beli roti boy. Fuhh...memang sedap lagi2 time perut tengah lapar. Ahad 4 April plak aku dan kengkawan cadang nak gi berkelah sambil BBQ di Sg Congkak. Saja nak release tension sambil berbual2.

Tengah survey futsal tapi tatau nak main ngan sapa and dimana. Kalau korang ada maklumat, please let me know. At the same time, nanti nak gi Shah Alam tengok sukan fencing. Semenjak baca pasal fencing dlm The Star bebaru nie, rasa cam best plak. Dulu dah merasa 3 tahun main archery, nak pula try something new. Besides that, aku nak blaja martial arts. Ingat smalam nak gi tengok tempat blaja kickboxing Umie Aida kat Ampang Point, tapi tak sempat plak.

Urrghhh...lapar bangat.

Kesahihannya? Wallahua'lam.....

BN Menang Besar
Menang besar? BN menang majoriti memang diduga tetapi menang besar? aku sendiri tak duga. Paling PELIK, BA kalah teruk. Taktik makin kotor atau orang makin bodoh(or maybe pandai bagi sesetengah)?

Smalam tengah2 tunggu keputusan tetiba blackout. Ingatkan area aku aje tapi Kudin pun kata area dia blackout. Anything can happen.

Barangkali by now keputusannya telah diketahui. Nanti aku update dengan keputusan terkini.

Marilah Mengundi

Fuhh...makin sengit makin hangit. Yalah, kalau dah berabis duit beli tiket sapa sanggup tinggalkan. Lain le SPR sanggup refund duit tiket F1 tu. Tapi, kalau kita tau apa erti undi kita tu...kita tentu akan sanggup bersusah payah beratur seawal pagi untuk mengundi dan kemudian cepat2 lari ke Sepang utk tengok Formula 1. Kalau dekat ngan KL le. Kalau dari nun diutara, selatan timur atau barat....kirim salam le kat SPR tu. Tapi pepatah ada kata, Hendak seribu daya, taknak seribu dalih.

Sok aku akan gi ngundi kat Sekolah Kebangsaan Lembah Keramat bagi DUN Hulu Klang, Parlimen Gombak. Seingat aku le, nie first time ada calon bebas yg membawa logo kepala rimau. Sapa dia nie aku pon tak kenal. Berani ek bertanding, tak risau ke hilang duit pertaruhan. Apa manifesto dia, aku pon tatau. Ntah2 nie taktik nak pecah undi tak??? Anyway, area sini Adil berentap ngan BN. Pilihanraya yg lepas Adil menang buat kali pertama setelah bertahun2 BN yg pegang. Kali nie Adil bukan lagi diwakili oleh Azmin tetapi seorang akauntan. Boleh ke dia menang? Kita tengok dan lihat. Mujur isnin nie aku cuti, bleh bersengkang mata tunggu keputusan. Kalau BN menang lagi, cuti umum le gamaknya.

VS VS

Ishhh....rasa syahdu plak nak ngundi besok. Bukan apa, semenjak 1992 baru nie le aku akan menjejakkan kaki kembali ke sekolah lama aku. Aisehhh..kenangan lama akan menjelma kembali. Ntah2 terserempak ngan member2 lama time skolah dulu.

Selamat Mengundi!!!

Menara KL and F1 at KLCC

I had a very busy weekend. After the last exam paper on saturday, I dashed back to KL and went to Alpha Angle. There was a nice sale going on. I bought a Suave shirt for myself. Then, I dropped by at the office to picked up my friend and we went for dinner at my favourite restaurant, Damai Selera at Danau Kota, Setapak. After a nice meal, I wanted to release my tension after a week of full blast stress. I drove to Damansara through the new Penchala Highway. It's a nice ride at night...especially because it's free. We went to Ikea and I plan to visit the new Harvey Norman store. I thought I went into the right car park entrance when I realize that it's the Ikea basement. Duhh....nevermind. The last time I visited Ikea was last year. My friend and I brisk through the store from one department to another looking at the artistic and creative way of designing a house and the furnitures are quite expensive. But it suits the look. We discuss on the design and how some of the design doesn't seems applicable to Malay family house.

After a nice tour around Ikea, we started to leave the place. I went to the parking fee machine to pay the fee. There's a lady voice instructing me what to do and I jokingly pretend talking to the voice about the coming election. My friend was laughing out loud and another customer behind us looked at me furiously. When we exit from the building and I was kind of angry to see the Harvey Norman's signage on the Ikea building. Then I read in newspaper that actually both stores are in the same building. But I just couldn't find the entrance and there was no signboard saying how to go to Harvey Norman. Duhh....

That night was the first time I had a phone chat with my friend from 12 midnight till 6am. We were discussing bout some serious matters. I was exhausted and later woke up at 10 am and quickly dressed up to meet my best buddy. We went to Times Square and had a nice long chat at Chicken Hertz. Later, we went to the Cosmic where the amusement park is situated. It wasn't as packed as the first time I visited the place but the fee to enter the amusement area has increased to RM25 per adult. We went to the arcade. During the exam week suddenly I had gone crazy over the old Virtua Cop game and I went mad searching the entire internet to find the game. Thanks to LimeWire, I found the game and downloaded it. The game machine is also available at the Times Square arcade and I had so much fun playing it until I didn't realize that I already spend RM 5 at the arcade!!

On Monday, we continued our adventure to Menara KL. We bought the tickets during the Real Rewards carnival which was held at Times Square. I also bought two tickets to PetroSainsPetrosains in K which was cheaper with triple points during the RR Carnival. Since the first days its open, I haven't had the chance to step into it. I heard it's a fabulous place with plenty of science stuff. Anyway, I brought along my camera to Menara KL and took plenty of pictures from the overview deck. There are also several telescope available for free (last time they use to charge RM 1 to use it) and it's fo much fun to be able to see people walking on the street and I even saw people relaxing in their apartment and condos. Not to be missed, people having fun at swimming pool. I counted there are about 8-10 roof top swimming pool around KL and most of it belongs to hotels. Oh ya, I even found an abandoned christmas tree on a roof top. I'm sure the tree will be back at its place when the next Christmas arrive!!

After 2 hours at Menara KL, we went to KLCC to watched Buli, Afdlin Shauki's first film directed by himself. I believe everyone should go and watch it. It's not a typical malay movie but a really different and hillarious movie. I laughed non stop through out the movie and even nearly shed a tear at some scene. Watching Buli is like reading Ujang magazine. Especially during the part where Jeslina Hashim was blamed for sketching on his father's face (Hattan) using coil...(to picture the pepatah of 'menconteng arang ke muka'). I nearly forgot that I was watching at cinema, not at home. It's the movie of 2004, much better than all those Erra-Yusry movies or even Apek's movie. And I have to admit that Nasha Aziz really looks so beautiful in this film. She looks so calm and she acted with all her heart. She doesn't look extremely sexy as she used to be but still georgeous. By the way, in this film Nasha acted as Dr Ika, a psychiatrist who treated Nordin (Afdlin Shauki) who had problem with self-esteem.

Before we went to TGV, we dropped by at Kinokuniya Book Store and stroll for an hour. I picked a book written by Marina Mahathir called In Liberal Doses and read through 2 chapters. I find the book is an interesting book. It's about how she view malaysia culture and about her life. That will be in my next book list. I already purchased The Chinese Dilemma and currently reading through it.

After a nice 2 hours movie, we went to see the F1 Sauber Petronas car. Took some pictures and went home. I was exhausted but happy. Next activity: Petrosains and National Museum.

Exam fever!

Duh.....it's the exam week again. The exams for this semester really took away most of my annual off days. Imagine I have to travel from Hulu Klang - Kelana Jaya for five days in a row to attend the mid term exam which consists of one paper each day!!! Arghhh......why can't they compressed all the papers in 3 days only? But anyway, I do enjoyed the one week of holiday. But I missed my students and my office very much :( Can't wait to be back to office next week :)

Latest news? Hmm....it's still the election fever and campaign. The list of candidates are already announced but I couldn't find the person who will compete for my district. Did I misreading it? No, I don't think so......

Recently, The Star launched its first e-paper which will be free for the net 3 months (probation period). Check it out by clicking at the logo below but I still prefer the actual paper where I can cut and keep any interesting articles for my future reference. Currently I have a stack of articles and small bits of newspapers all over my room. I will have to keep it in a file before my mom saw it and throw it away thinking it's just another trash!!

My exam will be over tomorrow. Hmm...what to do during the weekend? There will be too many activity held in KL this week. There will be:

 1. A Girls' Day Out by the well-known tv program called 3R at Mid Valley Exhibition Centre. Click here for event details

 2. Matta International Travel Fair at PWTCr - For those who loves to travel, this fair is a must for your can get special rates for accomodation, transportation fare and etc

 3. Fotokem Photofest is a must for camera lovers. Hmm....this should be interesting. I wish I have enough money to buy that professional look alike Fuji Finepix s5000

 4. The 14th Malaysian Education Fair will be held this weekend at Mid Valley.

 5. Anugerah Bintang Popular Berita Harian will definitely attracts many local music and movie lovers to watch the event live on TV and Radio. I will also try not to miss it. Not because I supports the industry but I'd love to see Ogy and Salleh Yaakob hosting the program. I heard their interview recently at Radio Era and both of them totally funky!! I bet it will be a cheerful event

Currently reading : nothing specific, only daily newspaper
Currently listening to: Anuar Zain - Semusim Berlalu
Next Agenda : Go to MPH and get a copy of The Chinese DilemmaClick here for the book review

Harry Potter is on the way

Hi.....still envy Harry Potter? Ask me and I'll say yes. I still read the books over and over again. Can't wait to watch the next HP movie which will commence in June 2004.

I read in TechTV about a group of starwars hardcore who were the first person (on earth?) to line up at San Francisco cinema in April 7, 1999 to watch Star Wars Episode 1:Phantom of Menace. George Lucas should reward this hardcore fan for being there for 42 days day and night, sunny or rainy just to show their support for this movie. They call themselves Starwoids

After reading the article, I visit Harry Potter's website and was grateful to know that The Prisoner's of Azkaban will be in cinema in June 2004. That will be about 4 months from now. Anyone dare to camp in front of TGV KLCC to be the first in Malaysia to watch The Prisoners of Azkaban? hahahaha....
Anyway, for my HP friends watch the trailer of the latest Potter movie at Azkaban's Website. I can't wait to see the first appearance of Harry's uncle...Sirius Black. I believe this is the last movie of HP where we will be able to see Sir Richard acting as Professor Dumbledore. Ahoy, Harry Potter's fan.....:)

Prisoner of Azkaban

Lat's Cartoon Exhibition & Pet Expo

hello....I know I've been busy lately but to missed such great exhibition and expo is totally a waste. Lat has been my favourite cartoonist since I was a kid. I love reading his collection of Kampung Boy: Yesterday and Today. Thanks to Lat, I don't have to live in a kampung to get to know all sort of kampung wat of life. The toys they use to play, the daily activities and etc. For those who have been living in town or city since day 1, you should get his book. You will love it and learn a lot.

The exhibition has been in Balai Seni Lukis Negara for weeks and today is the last day. It was the first time I visit the place. When it was still in the old building at Jalan Hishammuddin ( I went there when I was in Form 3 to write a report on the historical building), it was kind of spooky. I had a chance to use the old style of elevator (the one where yoy have to pull open the door and push it back). But now the new building which stood proudly at Jalan Tun Razak is a very unique piece of architecture. The roof itself is a one fine art and don't be surprise. They even had some drawing on the parking lot (on the road) which makes me think whether it is drawn legally or by some prank vandalisme kids.

Anyway, after the exhibition and having good time laughing over his cartoon, my friend and I went to Mid Valley. We arrived there at 6.20pm and had enough time to wonder around the Pet Expo which was in Mid Valley Expo Centre for the past 3 days. A fee of RM 8 for each adult will allow you to see all kind of animals, pets and exotic one. I even had this opportunity to touch the body of a snake (ular sawa). It's so cool. Check out the photos at my fotopages. It's already late in the evening and most of the cats and dogs are already tired. Some of the cats even gave a nasty look. Their face looks as if it has been smacked real hard on the face...funny.

After the show, I had a quick dinner at the food court which was crowded with hungry people and went home at 8.30pm. I don't prefer loafing around Mid Valley. I don't envy the place. It's too crowded and too big.

Please visit my fotopages and enjoy the photos :)

Election Fever
Sorry dudes, been away so long from here. As usual, boring excuses. Office works and study. When will this ever end? Having running own business requires extra attention from me. Luckily I had changed course in Unitar from Bachelor in IT to Bachelor in IS which should be slightly lighter. No more programming.

The election will be here soon. I already sign up as the voter. Have you guys did the same? I can't wait to poll for the first time. I'm not sure at your place, but in KL looks quite slow. Not much banners are up/ Maybe the election fever will be here soon. But this time it's quite different. COmpared to previous elections campaign, whenever the election will be held the road work will be so smooth. You will see plenty of work repair is done. That's a sign that election will appear. But this time, it's quite slow. I've seen few road repairs here and there but not as active during previous election. Is this a sign of confidence? We'll see......
