LRT oh LRT

Bukan selalu ada peluang naik LRT. Bila last naik LRT? Hmmm.....masa gi KLCC tgk pameran awal bulan ni tapi sampai KLCC aje.

Bergesel bahu, panas toksah kata. Memasing senyap aje, muka stone. Stress gamaknya hari2 melalui perkara yang sama. Selama 2 hari melalui kawasan2 sehingga ke Taman Jaya, seronok gak dapat observe mende2 yg slama ni tak perasan pun. Antaranya....
  • masih selamat padang bola di Brickfield tapi brape lama? Ramai yg gatal tangan nak develop kawasan tu
  • Buruknya sekitar KL Sentral. Sampah2 pembinaan masih bersisa disana sini
Pool sapa ek? =>Universiti
  • Rumah-rumah kampung tu status setinggan ke tanah sah? =>Kerinchi
  • Banyaknya umah2 banglo beso2 design 70an => Taman Jaya

Cess.....tapi godek2 terjumpa gambar-gambar mereka bersama Datuk Siti Nurhaliza.

Chicken Soup

Yes, I know. Chicken soup is indeed yummy. But I find that the Chicken Soup series is a whole lot more yummy.

I read the first book about a month ago. Accidentally found it in the local Wangsa Maju library. It was Chicken Soup For The Unsinkable Soul . There were many inspiring stories, it helps to lift up my spirit after the sudden news of job termination in November. If you need a book that can lift up your spirit and look ahead in positive way, this is one of the book.

Then I grabbed the Chicken Soup For The Kids. Wow...I just can't put down the books. Very aspiring stories and it does help me a lot to understand kids better since I work with kids and teens everyday.

After the two books, I couldn't wait for the next library visit. I went there yesterday and grabbed 4 books of Chicken Soups. The books are:

Chicken Soup for the College Soul

Chicken Soup For The Preteen's Soul

6th Bowl of Chicken Soup for the Soul

and Chicken Soup for the Golden soul, I borrowed it specially for my mom

Woohoooo.....that should be more than enough to accompany me for the next few weeks

Pameran Kegemilangan Sains dalam Tamadun Islam

My parent and I had an opportunity to visit the Pameran Kegemilangan Sains Dalam Tamadun Islam which is currently held in KL Convention Centre until end of the week before it will be moved to Pusat Sains Negara.

We arrived at about 12.30, trying to find the cheapest place to park and ended up park the car at the KLCC basement parking lot. My mom and dad have not come to KLCC for years and they took the opportunity to check out new stuff in KLCC. We headed straight to the convention centre. I could see huge crowd from far. Many students came from various schools in colourful uniforms. There were also government staffs as well.

We were given a token for Cabutan Bertuah which were held later. My mom tour on her own, me and my dad were reading every description and we were discussing heavily about how the machine works. It is really awesome to see those creation and to think how did they created it with so little resources and limited of technologies?

At the end of the program, we gathered near the stage for Cabutan Bertuah session. We were unlucky but my mom won a pendrive. She doesn't know what a pendrive is and yet she is so lucky to won it. I was thinking of using it for myself when my mom said that it will be a birthday present for my sister. Duh!

It was fun and full of knowledge. Everyone should visit it especially the muslims.

One of the creation. One of the student were discussing about the location of this mosque and my mom overheard them and told them that the place is in Iraq. The students thanked her profusely and asked if she's a teacher. I cheekily replied, "dah aihh...darjah tiga pun tak habis". Tee...heee....heee......

I find that this is one of the most magnificent tool ever created during that era. It is a tool to carry water. I played with it several time while my dad explained how the gears and the pulley and stuffs works.

Absolutely cool

Another machine created to transfer water. The machine is moved by the current of the river.

Very creative way to collect water and push it up to the place where the water will be collected and transfered.

We were looking at it and had no idea at all how it works. This is sort of like security numbers for safe deposit. The four top turning knob is security knob. It works like the safe deposit box where you have to turn the knob according to the password. Absolutely genius.

This fella is known as Birdman coz he was the first to be able to glide on air. Unfortunately he forgot to learn how to land safely. Ouch!

There's also a huge screen where you can touch and learn about the history.

I urged everyone to visit the place and learn as much as you can. Don't forget to watch the flat screen tv where it is available around the place for you to get to know about the Muslim scientist in the past.

Welcome 2007

I hope it's not too late to wish Happy 2007. I hope it will be a happy and prosperous year even though there are wide spread rumors about petrol price hike and no more rumors but fact about the new toll price. Even though currently jobless, I feel thankful for not having to crack my head to think about the toll price or petrol or parking rate since most of my upcoming jobs will be around my area.

I started 2007 with getting a job to teach a Form 1 student in Wangsa Melawati. It will be a twice a week classes. Reasonable fee. I'm also looking into IT training projects with Activemind Training and also writing IT syllabus for my future projects. Insya' Allah I will also start basic chess classes and yup, my usual tuition classes in Taman Samudra will be as usual. It will be slow for the first two months but we will start getting more students from March onwards, insya' Allah.

Besides that I am also volunteering myself to teach in an orphanage home in Setapak. It is called Teratak Shifa'. There are 10 girls living there and I started my first class on Thursday. I like the place and the kids. The principal is also very kind and humble. They also have their own blog. Cool! Click here to view it.

I'm also planning to get a mountain bike or any kind of bicycle. Since most of my works are less than 10km from my house, I figured out it would be best to move by bicycle especially when I need to go to Taman Melawati which I found out is getting crowded and surprisingly I was stuck in the traffic jam in the middle of the Taman Melawati shoplots area nearly half an hour! Not to forget parking is 50 cent per hour. Not easy to find a space to park, some more need to pay and later stuck in the jam. I think I should start looking at other alternative like bicycle (I can't opt for motorcycle since I don't have the license and the cost of getting the license plus buying a motorcycle is high)

All set for 2007, I guess. There will be more Activemindkids programs as well.....yeehaaa!!!
