Raya in Penang - Day 3 and 4
The journey continues. Our next activity was shopping for 'jeruk' at an old famous market called Chowrasta market. We bought a few kilos of every flavour. My favourite is jeruk manga. Penang is famous for its buah pala. It's quite cheap also.

Next, dinner at Pelita Nasi Kandar, among the famous nasi kandar restaurant in Penang. I had roti nan cheese with tandoori and teh tarik. Not bad, taste good. The mee goreng mamak was really tasty. My mom and dad had nasi kandar.

On day 4, we left the rest house at 9am, stopped by at my uncle's house to say goodbye before heading back to KL. The journey was smooth and we arrived at Jln Duta toll at 4.30pm without heavy traffic jam. Arrived home at 5.30pm.

What a great journey!!
Raya in Penang - Day 1 and 2
Last year kat Perlis and Kedah. This time, Penang. We stayed at resthouse belongs to Penang prison. My uncle works there. Raya kali nie best coz ada handycam, apalagi..shoot sakan.

Activities - Day 1:
* Depart from KL at 1.00pm. Luckily we heard about the land slide or else we will be stucked at the road too.
* Arrived Penang at 8.00pm. We stopped at several R&R and it was raining. So, we had to slowed down.
* Dinner served at the resthouse. Nasi Beriyani and ayam golek, specially made by my aunt and uncle.

Activities - Day 2:
* Early morning we went to Penang museum. A place we will never missed to visit whenever we goes to any town. The best part, reading the last will of Francis Light
* Next, Botanical Garden (kebun bunga). Actual plan was Bukit Bendera but too many people. So, we change our plan. I bought two cute cactus as souvenier.
* Dinner: Sany Char Kuey Teow at Sg Dua, near USM. Fuhh..too good. Must try. I had two plates :p
* Gurney drive. Just hang out and lepark. Before that we went to Gurney Plaza. Found a pair of purple Reebok, damn cheap. RM 19.90 but too bad, no size for me. Duh!!

Continue tomorrow with day 3 and 4 activities. Pictures will be up soon...

Selamat Hari Raya Aidilfitri

Good, I need a break.

Semalam lepas submit project report yg terakhir utk sem nie, I dashed to Jln TAR. wow....meriahnya. Singgah ke Pertama Kompleks beli hi8 tape. Raya nie nak bergambar sakan. Then, my friend and I went to Sogo. I bought a shirt yg aku dah aim semenjak raya yg lalu. Kali nie ada duit sket, beli le. Kemeja Snails. Then, the next destination....mana lagi. Tempat membeli tudung le. I bought 3 for myselves. Then nampak ada gerai2 jual jeans Levis. Siam mali. Nak beli ori tak mampu dan tak sanggup nak hulurkan ratus ringgit. Tapi teringin nak pakai Levis. So, angkat siam mali pun oklah. baru RM 20. Levis yg beli kat Kota Bharu dulu dah koyak. Mujur aku jenis tak memilih sgt bila bab pakaian. Jeans paling mahal aku penah beli pun Pall Mall, RM45 paling murah pula sure korang tak caya. RM 7. Yupp...RM 7. Bukan jeans curi aaaa..tapi baru. Ada satu kedai sukan kat Mid Valley buat stock clearance dan yg tinggal cuma size aku aje. apalagi...sambar beb!

Alamak, kene gi umah pakcik daa. Pakcik aku dah panggil suh masak ketupat. Teringat dulu kat kampung masak ketupat ngan rendang kat luar umah. Siap pasang khemah lagi. Hmmm...mana nak gi sok raya pertama? Last year aku ngan cousin2 aku merayau di KLCC.

To all bloggers, Selamat Hari Raya Aidilfitri, Maaf Zahir dan Batin

Take the What Fruit Are You? test by Ellen!

cuba le amik kuiz buah buahan nie. just for fun :)
Aku Cinta Kau dan Dia

tgh syok layan lagu nie. Lagu kumpulan Dewa. ada ek org yg bleh cintakan 2 org dlm satu masa? boleh ke cintakan 2 org yg berbeza dgn sepenuh hati dlm satu masa yg sama? hmmmm.....

hancur hatiku
mengenang dikau
jadi keping keping
setelah kau pergi
tinggalkan kasih sayang
yang pernah singgah
antara kita
masihkah ada sayang itu?

memang salahku
yang tak pernah bisa
meninggalkan dirinya
tuk bersama kamu
walau tuk terus bersama kerana
ada hati yg kan terluka
dan ku tahu kau tak mahu

sekali lagi maafkanlah
kerna aku
cinta kau dan dia
maafkanlah ku tak bisa
tinggalkan dirinya

mungkin tak mungkin
untuk terus bersama
jalani semua cinta
yg telah dijalani
tapi bila itu yg kau fikir yg terbaik untukmu
bahagiaku untuk dirimu

still love her in my life
still love her forever

An inside overview of my PocketPC PDA
just want to put this posting here as a reference for those who are looking for some info on PDA especially PocketPC.

This is my Compaq Ipaq model H3850. I bought it at 2nd hand price but it was brand new in September 2002, complete set with warranty till August 2003. Can u see Nemo? I used Nemo as my theme (wallpaper). It is running on Windows CE 2002's operating system. The latest one is WinCE 2003.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

That's the start menu. The list of program available on my Ipaq. I wish I could install more but 64MB memory limits me. But I can add external SD card to increase the space.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Again, the list of programs available. Most of it comes in the cd given when you purchased the Ipaq. But softwares like Adobe Acrobat Reader for (mobile version) and many more fantastic softwares for PPC can be downloaded as freeware or shareware.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Okay, here's the list of Word document that I have in my PPC. See, most of it are my John Grisham's e-book and I downloaded it for free (thanks to the kind person out there). I've been reading his writing for the past 2 weeks. You can see the name of the document on the left, the date last open in the middle and the size of the document on the most right.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

This is what's it looks like on a new fresh word document. At the bottom where u can see ABC abc and 123 is where you scribble the things that you want to type. Those arrows and stuff on the right side is the tools for symbols, Enter, space bar, Backspace, left and right arrow.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

These are the 4 options for writing on the PPC surface. Block Recognizer is a choice where you just scribble on the appropriate space at the bottom and it will appear as if you are typing using a keyboard on the document.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

This is the keyboard where you just tapped on the letters with your stylus (the pen for PDA.)

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Only use stylus on PDA or you will scratch the surface if u use other things but sometimes I just use my finger to tap :D )

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Sometimes it's fun to use the transcriber to write. It recognize most of my writing (as long as you don't write as if you are a doctor). If I'm not mistaken, you can 'train' the PPC to memorize your way of writing.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Most of the time, I much prefer using this option called Letter Recognizer. You need some times to practise using it. It have 3 sections, the capital letters which is ABC, the small capital which is 'abc' and numeric. The stroke for L and I are different to. If you swing your styles up to down, it will create an 'L' for you and you need to swing it down to top to create an 'I'. Practise makes perfect

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

This is the formatting tool available in Word. You can basically edit your text like what you do in a Microsoft Word on your desktop.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

This is one of John Grisham's e-book. It's easy to read on PPC and very handy too. Especially while waiting for bus or on the LRT train. Rather than staring at people's face, I much prefer spend the time reads using my PPC.

Additional info. This is Pocket Excel (I forgot, in Windows CE, Microsoft Word is knows as Pocket Word while Microsoft Excel is known as Pocket Excel. I heard in Windows CE 2003 there is Pocket Point for MS Powerpoint.)

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

This is the Media Player for you to play mp3 on your PPC. But I seldom using it because I don't store my mp3 files in my PPC. The files takes plenty of space and my PPC will be as slow as a snail.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

This is the main reason why I need a PDA. Calendar. Helps me to organize my daily work and study. It reminds me what to do and even rings to reminds me of stuff that I need to do or attend. My daily life depends on this.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

This is the most important accessory to syncronize my PPC with my laptop so that all my files and appointments and contacts are kept and backed up in my laptop in case something happen to my PPC. It is called cradle. You can sync(hubungkan) your PPC to laptop or pc either using USB or serial. Both are provided.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

This is how it's looks like when my PPC sits on its cradle (rock a by baby on the tree top...doesn't look like the cradle where most babies sits in :P ). I knows a person who used PhonePC and he claimed the cradle isn't as nice as a PPC's cradle.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

This are the accesorries that you'll get when purchasing a PPC. 2 stylus for you to scribble on the PPC, a cradle, a hardcover, a charger and cd installer. There are plenty of additional accessories out there to add in. My Ipaq has a special additional layer on its surface so that it won't get scratched easily.

So, basically that's the info about PDA specially focused on PocketPC Ipaq. There are plenty of websites on PDA information out there. Spend some times on research, list down your needs and see which brand and models suits your need and most important, suits your budget. If you are looking for a 2nd hand PDA, I highly suggest Classified Cari.com.my where I found my PPC besides Forum Jual Beli IT Tutor and of course, not to forget Lelong.com.my

Good luck on the journey of finding the right PDA for you. Oh yes, before I forget PPC uses Activesync 3.5 to sync the PPC to laptop and PPC is not the only type of PDA available on the market. Check out Palm too, I heard there are several great Palm models in the market at affordable price. Bear in mind, Palm doesn't use Windows CE and its operating system. It uses Palm OS where you will not find Pocket Word and Excel available in it. But I bet they provide alternative software for wordprocessing and spreadsheet.

Compaq should pay me for promoting this :P

Linux workshop - Day 2

I've arrived a bit late this morning. Luckily the class was still in discussion on Linux installation and configuration. We are now practising on using Open Office. It will take some times to familiarize with the tools. Somewhat similiar with Office 2003 (wonder how's the 2003's launching yesterday. Damn, had to missed it) but it's free. That's the best part.

Too bad Macromedia products are not compartible with Linux

Linux Workshop - 1st Day

I am now in one of the lab in KDMC in Plaza Sentral. We've just finished the first part of Linux Red Hat introduction. Tonnes of questions and enquiries can be heard from 25 participants most from computer industry who had been devoted to Windows since it existed on earth. We are now on the 1st coffee break (shishh..the smells of cappucino so nice). Let's see how does it feels like to install Red Hat in this beautiful IBM machine. I've downloaded Open Office 1.1 a month ago and recently I uninstalled it. Can't get off from the MS Office's hook. Just turndown the official invitation from Microsoft Malaysia to attend the Microsoft Office 2003 official launch which is also happens today.

Oppps..gtg. The class gonna start now.

3 November 2003
For the past two days I've been meeting students and parents where I had been working with for the past 10 months. Sigh....gonna miss those kids. Next year they will be in primary school and some of them promise to come and continue their lessons at our place. Hope they will do that.

It was raining heavily yesterday. Worst part, the car air cond was not working and so does the thing that clears the mist at the screen. I had to drove really slow coz the sight distance was about 50 metre only. Luckily I managed to arrived home safely. But I had really bad headache. 2 pills of 500mg Paracetamol helps me to get a good sleep and today, the headache still there a bit. The rain must be really acidic. Luckily the river nearby wasn't clogged or else...it will be flood. I am tired enough and I don't need flood to makes me even more tired.

Found this nice article for those who uses cellphones. Malaysian people with malaysian ethiquette. I've been watching movies at TGV for so many times and yet I can't recalled a single movie without the interruption from handphone ringing. Is it so difficult to make it silent or silent with vibrate?

Personal Space Invaders
Cell phone use in public places

The cell phone has become a ubiquitous part of the landscape in most cities. It seems that everywhere we look, somebody is talking on a phone, usually in a louder than normal voice and in a conversation that we would just as soon not have to hear. Does everyone within earshot really need to know that the laxative a total stranger took about an hour ago still hasn't kicked in?
In the name of technology and convenience, we have sacrificed civility and good manners.

When using your cell phone, keep these things in mind:

1. You don't have to yell.
Cell phones are designed for conversation at normal volume levels. You don't have to speak loudly to be heard. Talk as you would on any other phone.

2. Respect the personal space of those around you.
Although there seems to be at least one voyeur in almost every crowd, most people wouldn't intentionally eavesdrop. But even those who don't want to hear your conversation become a captive audience when trapped in the confines of a taxi or other close quarters. Be merciful. Keep your voice low or turn the phone off.

3. Private conversations should be kept private.
You know how uncomfortable you feel when you see a couple making out on the train? It makes you want to tap one of them on the shoulder and tell them to just get a room. The same is true of intimate and intensely personal phone calls that may make those around you feel uneasy or uncomfortable. Be considerate of those around you and return the call at a more appropriate time.

4. There's enough stress in the world already.
People don't want to hear you yell at your kid, fire an employee, argue with your spouse or scream at the guy who worked on your car. If you need to get angry or raise your voice, then please find some place else where others won't have to hear you do it. Otherwise, keep your conversation polite and your voice low. Watch the people around you for cues. If they begin to stare or back away then you probably need to either lower your voice or get off the phone. The more crowded the area, the quieter your voice should be.

5. Don't keep others waiting.
The people who are standing in line behind you at the ticket counter don't want to wait for you to finish your conversation. Put the phone down and take care of business. Turn the phone off if a call might interrupt what you need to be doing, especially if taking a call would be inconvenient for those around you.

Proper cell phone etiquette provides security, efficiency and convenience for you without inconveniencing those around you. Be a responsible cell phone user by being considerate of others.

I was overjoy when heard that. Aku memang suka bangat dengan keje yg aku buat skarang. I really enjoy the work and I believe I have found a job that satisfy me. Bukan wang menjadi ukuran (gaji pon slalu lambat) tetapi kepuasan, sesuatu yg priceless. Money can't buy. Bukan senang nak cari satu keje dimana kita bangun pagi dengan semangat berkobar2 nak ke pejabat. Another glory day. Bangun untuk menabur ilmu.

Yang menjadikan semangat aku sedikit pudar ialah apabila bos aku suh amikalih satu projek yg dikira illegal bukan dari segi undang2 negara tapi illegal dr segi moral dan etika. Apabila sykt mendpt satu2 projek, kita sepatutnya declare kpd sebuah sykt yg menjadi 'kepala' yg supply segala perkara yg kami perlukan utk meneruskan perniagaan.

Aku takut. Kalau2 'kepala' tau aku ada simpan projek yg tak diisytiharkan. Adakah aku akan disaman? aku taknak timbulkan masalah. Harga yg bakal ditaburkan utk membeli sykt bukannya sedikit. Seorang teman sekerja yg mencadangkan projek X mencebik kpd aku dan kawan. Katanya kami bodoh dan lurus bendul. Sampai bila nak maju jika asyik lurus meniaga. Aku tergamam. Salahkah jika meniaga dgn lurus?
