Insurans- Kenapa takut?
Back to zero. Paling takut jika sampai terpaksa menggadai aset.

HARI RAYA 2006 - Day One, Malam Raya Pertama
HARI RAYA 2006 - Day One
Hari raya pertama biasa sahaja.

Semalam lepas kem, sempat jenguk Tadika Athfaal selepas beberapa minggu tak datang mengajar kerana dah habis cover semua pada bulan September. Seronok budak2 bila nampak aku di pagar. Sementara menunggu kontraktor siapkan wiring di bilik komputer, sempat mengambil gambar-gambar pelajar yang sedang gigih berlatih untuk konsert akhir tahun walaupun berpuasa.
Si Comel yang kecil-kecil cili padi
Penat berpuasa tapi tetap gigih
Jauhnya termenung
Cergas dan bertenaga
Mendengar dengan tekun
Penuh perasaan

Catching Up With The Latest
Baru2 ni sedang aku buat preparation nak mengajar, student2 aku menyanyi dibelakang. Aku teliti lagu yg mereka nyanyi. Ahh...lagu pop masa kini tapi lagu apa? Bila sampai tang chorus masing2 jerit sekuat hati....My Heartttttt...then baru aku catch up. Ohhh..lagu My Heart. Macam pernah dengar tapi dimana ya?
Aku slalu dengar radio sewaktu memandu. Most of the time aku suka tune to Sinar FM atau KLFM sebab banyak lagu2 lama yg aku suka. Sampailah bila aku pegi mengajar tuisyen pagi tadi, student aku pun humming lagu My Heart sambil buat keje. Terkesima aku. Nampaknya lagu ni must be really popular. Tapi apsal aku tatau???
Anyway, balik aje aku surf internet. Cari MP3 lagu tu dan download....first time dengar biasa aje tapi dengar banyak kali....not bad. I like the tune of the guitar..best. Lepas ni lagu ni ajelah yg bergema dlm kepala aku selama beberapa hari (few days ago lagu Zubir Ali: Balada Seorang Gadis Kecil yg aku dok dgr setiap hari).
I guess aku kene peka dengan apa lagu yg student aku nyanyi supaya aku tau apa lagu yg paling hot masa kini....hahahaha....rasa mcm dah tua giler.....wakakaka....

Buka Puasa Di Restoran Rebung
It was RM45 per person. Makanan masakan melayu. Lauk pauk.
Kesian tgk org lain meja bulat kecik duduk 3 orang. I think RM45 tu better cari hotel atau restoran lain (I heard Sakura Tmn Melawati buffet RM35 siap ada western food lagi). I saw the chef yg popular tu. He was nice, busy greeting his customers.
Anyway it was an enjoyable night.

Tabloid editor resigns over Mawi-free edition fiasco
THE editor of the popular tabloid Populi was made to resign yesterday over his failure to include any news items related to Mawi in its Tuesday edition.
The decision to terminate the services of Noordin Mahmoody, 39, was a unanimous one passed by an emergency meeting of the board of directors.
The meeting was called after protests by the paper’s stockholders as well as the shocked reading public.
In his defence, Noordin claimed he tried everything possible to include a Mawi item on that day.
"We wanted to do something on how he’s OK with his ex starting a singing career, or something about his first fasting month without his father, or something about that Felda movie he’s singing the theme song for, or something about his plans for Raya," he says, before breaking down.
"But I realised that we’d covered all those stories already. I simply couldn’t think of anything else."
A loyal Populi reader, who only wishes to be known as Tina, said that she was so traumatised by the Mawi-free edition that she had to call in sick that day.
"I looked everywhere — there was no Mawi even in the cartoon or astrology pages. It was like a day on which the sun did not rise," she says, somewhat pitifully.
Noordin added that up until that fateful Tuesday, Populi had done its job by having at least one Mawi item for 629 days in a row.
He cited this in his plea for leniency to the board of directors but to no avail.
Stockholder Serimah Chen is unsympathetic.
"Noordin failed to discharge his duties in an acceptable manner. And he calls himself an editor!"
Chen offered helpful tips on how the job could have been done.
"Although Mawi didn’t seem to do anything newsworthy the day before, this didn’t stop any of the other tabloids from running at least his picture," she says, while flipping through a stack of sleazy newsprint.
"Look at this one," she says, triumphantly holding aloft Mangkuk Perdana. "An article on the cancelled crooked bridge manages to print a Mawi picture because he’s from Johor, which is where the bridge would have led to."
"And here’s another," she says, pointing to Bacaraya, whose front page article on an overturned passenger bus that killed 80 starts off by wondering whether the Mawi album was being played at the time of the crash.
"These are just two examples of basic ingenuity that we expect our newspaper editors to possess.
"It’s safe to say Noordin’s career in the tabloid Press is over."

Consumer Power
Sweater's not such a hot bargain
-by Kalbana Perimbanayagam -
PETER LIAN, from Cheras, is frustrated with PAL’s Boutique in Pandan Indah for not taking responsibility for a defective garment sold. |
LIAN claims he was told that the boutique owner was not there and the promoter could not do anything about it.
He claims that when they tried calling the owner on her cell phone, she had refused to answer.
“This is not the way to do business. As the shop owner, she should be responsible for the defective product, especially when my daughter shops there often and even has a membership card at the boutique,” says LIAN.
LIAN says he only wanted to exchange the sweater for a good one and not a refund.
“The sweater is only RM59.90.
The money or price is not the issue but the business ethics is important,” he says.
LIAN feels the boutique owner could have attended to his complaint and resolve the matter even if she was not there.
• A SPOKESMAN from PAL’s Boutique says: “I was attending a meeting with my partner in Penang and was not able to answer LIAN’s call.” She claims to have informed LIAN when he called the fi rst time that she was in a meeting but LIAN persisted and called her more than 20 times.
The spokesman said the sweater is a low-priced item and she would refund LIAN his money.
“I’m not running away (from my responsibilities) but why can’t he wait for me to get back and look into the matter?” she asks.
She says she will also cancel LIAN’s daughter’s membership at the boutique.
“LIAN can collect his money for the sweater. I don’t need this kind of customers who have no patience and understanding,” she says.
This is what I called the power of consumer. Boikot aje..nampak sangat mereka tak mementingkan kepuasan pelanggan.Salam Ramadhan
Sherrina juga akan hadiri 2 kursus mengajar catur. Kursus Asas Catur dan Train the Trainer.

Fight Till The Last Drop Of Blood
aku sedih masa mengajar tu sambil curi2 dengar. sebab dia maki budak tu depan2 org lain dan dia rendah2kan budak tu. dan aku lagi sedih sebab dia loose hope ngan budak tu. aku tau budak tu nakal tapi dia masih boleh diubah, masih boleh diajar. tapi apakan daya, mak dia decide budak tu mengabihkan duit dia aje dan dia nak berentikan budak tu. aku doakan budak tu tak tersasar jauh dan dapat dibantu oleh orang2 lain pula. aku sedih pula kerana cikgu2 dia tak hulurkan tangan bantu dia pun atau maybe dah cuba tapi give up....we should never loose hope..we should never give up.....gua sedih beb..gua sedih.....
If you lose hope, somehow you lose the vitality that keeps life moving, you lose that courage to be, that quality that helps you go on in spite of it all. And so today I still have a dream.
